Procedure: Chickens were immunized with highly purified bovine serum albumin. After multiple immunizations in Freunds adjuvant, eggs were collected and the IgY fraction prepared. The antibodies were immunoaffinity purified from a solid phase immunoabsorbant and conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).
Specifications: The anti BSA shows a single precipitin arc against bovine serum albumin and the albumin in bovine serum using immunoelectrophoresis. Fluorescein/protein molar ratio = 3-6.
