Procedure: Goats were immunized with highly purified chicken IgY Fab fragment isolated from normal chicken serum. The resulting anti IgY Fab was immunoaffinity purified from a chicken immunoglobulin immunoabsorbant and conjugated to fluorescein isothiocyanate.
Specifications: Affinity purified anti-IgY Fab reacts with IgY in serum and yolk extracts. It reacts with Fab fragment and light chains but not with the Fc fragments by immunoelectrophoresis and gel diffusion techniques. Molar F/P ratio is between 3 and 6.
